SightCall Snap for Asynchronous Remote Insurance Claims: Trusted Evidence Collection

VP of Product Marketing

SightCall Snap Enables Asynchronous Remote Claims

Desk Adjuster teams move fastest when they have clear, trustworthy evidence. But in the real world, collecting that evidence is not always simple.

Policyholders may not be available when a remote adjuster reaches out. They may not be at the loss site. A live video session may not be practical. And when teams fall back on email, they introduce a new set of problems: edited photos, wrong-location images, mailbox limitations, manual sorting, and extra work mapping evidence back to the right claim.

That is the gap SightCall Snap is designed to solve for insurance claims.

Snap enables asynchronous evidence collection, allowing claimants to securely submit guided visual proof of loss when it works for them. Remote desk adjusters receive trusted evidence in the SightCall Console, helping them assess claims faster, improve documentation accuracy, and deliver a smoother claimant experience.

Why remote claims need asynchronous evidence collection

Remote claims workflows often include both live and asynchronous moments. A claims handler may need to speak with the policyholder, review damage, collect documents, validate location, and complete claim documentation. But not every step needs to happen live.

Forcing every visual inspection into a scheduled live interaction can slow the process down. If the claimant is unavailable or away from the loss site, the claim may need to be rescheduled. If the handler asks for photos by email, evidence collection becomes harder to control, harder to organize, and harder to trust.

Snap gives insurance teams a better option: collect the right evidence through a guided, secure, mobile-friendly experience—without requiring the claimant and claims handler to be available at the same time.

How SightCall Snap works for claims

The workflow is simple.

A claims handler sends the claimant a Snap invitation. The invitation clearly instructs the claimant to submit proof of loss, and clicking the link automatically launches the Snap experience.

From there, the claimant is guided through evidence collection. Custom guidance can be configured for each Snap scenario, helping the claimant understand what to capture and submit.

Once the claimant submits the evidence, the claims handler is notified in the New SightCall Console. The content is immediately available for review and can also be uploaded to the claims management system or accessed through API. The collected content is secured, timestamped, and geolocated to help reduce fraud risk. Claims handlers can also edit and annotate shared content when needed.

What makes Snap valuable for insurance

  • For claims handlers, Snap reduces the back-and-forth that comes from unclear descriptions or incomplete documentation. Instead of chasing attachments through email, they can manage evidence in one place and review trusted visual content tied to the claim.
  • For policyholders and claimants, Snap improves convenience. They can submit evidence when they are available and when they are physically able to capture the right proof of loss. That creates a less frustrating experience and reduces the need to reschedule a live interaction.
  • For claims operations leaders, Snap supports faster claim assessment, fewer manual workflows, and stronger evidence integrity. This matters especially for small claims, where fraud risk and operational efficiency are both major concerns.
  • For CX and insurance experience leaders, Snap helps remove friction from a stressful moment in the customer journey. A claimant does not want to download an app, search through email threads, or wait for another appointment. They want a clear, simple way to move the claim forward.
  • For IT and digital transformation leaders, Snap supports a more scalable remote claims model. Evidence can be collected securely, reviewed in the New SightCall Console, uploaded to a claims management system, or accessed via API—supporting integration into broader claims workflows.

One claim, one visual evidence record

The long-term value of Snap is not just asynchronous media collection. It is the ability to bring visual evidence into the claims workflow in a structured way.

The insurance use case positions Snap around one SightCall session per claim, where real-time and asynchronous interactions can be connected. Evidence is consolidated in one place so claims handlers can manage the claim with better context, less manual effort, and more confidence in the information they are reviewing.

That matters because better evidence leads to better decisions. Geolocated and timestamped evidence helps claims teams validate what happened, where it happened, and whether the submitted proof aligns with the claim.

Built for the moments live video cannot cover

Live video remains valuable for complex remote assessments. But not every claim requires a live inspection, and not every claimant is available for one.

SightCall Snap gives insurers a flexible path between email-based evidence collection and live video support. It is designed for the moments when claims teams need visual proof, but the claimant needs flexibility.

The result is a claims experience that is faster for handlers, easier for claimants, and more trusted for the business.

What’s coming next

SightCall Snap is evolving quickly, with additional evidence-capture capabilities planned for upcoming releases, including video capture, scanned code capture, OCR, offline mode during a meeting, and Snap-only evidence collection outside of a live session context.

As these capabilities become available, insurers will be able to expand how they collect and manage remote claims evidence through the New SightCall Console—giving claims teams more flexibility to support both live and asynchronous claims journeys.
