One way the enterprise is boosting engagement and collaboration is by implementing social platforms such as Chatter and Yammer. Within the enterprise, employees collaborate and engage with each other on both one to one video calls and multi-party video conferencing.
Enterprise Social Platform Video Calling Use Case
Robin and William are working on a very important slide deck presentation for their boss Nicole who will be presenting to the company’s board of directors in two days. Just like most projects within the enterprise, this slide deck needed to be done yesterday and both Robin and William are starting to feel the pressure.
William is making the final edits and saved the document to the company’s cloud so that Nicole can easily review it before her presentation to the board. William notifies both Robin and Nicole through their enterprise social platform that the slide deck has been published to the cloud. After briefly skimming through the first couple of slides, Nicole added a few questions to the social thread so either Robin or William could address them.
Knowing that William was the one that saved the slide deck to the cloud, Robin decided to video call William to iron out the questions that Nicole submitted. Instead of posting the answers to Nicole’s questions back on the social platform, the two decided that it would be easier to bring Nicole in as the third person on a multi-party video call. Now the three are all saving time and going over the slide deck so that Nicole can be prepared for her presentation.
